The Planning Committee usually meets once a month on a Wednesday, at 7pm, and is followed by the General Purposes Committee.
The Committee considers planning applications, appeals, public entertainment applications and street trading consents that have been forwarded by the Borough Council, although the District Council is not obligated to consult with the Parish.
Upon receiving copies of planning applications the Parish Council writes to any neighbouring properties that the proposals might affect and all responses are taken into consideration at the Planning Committee meeting.
The Parish Council’s comments and suggestions are forwarded to the Borough Council who must take them into account when making a final decision whether or not to grant permission to the application.
Meetings of the Planning Committee are open to the public and copies of the agenda should be available on the website or upon request on the night of the meeting.
