Northway Lane/Hardwick Bank Road Temporary Road Closures

Laura Spiers • Mon 28 of Jun, 2010 (14:05 BST)

You will probably have now seen the large yellow signs on the Northway Lane motorway bridge advising road users of the proposed temporary closure of that road, and if timing goes to schedule the road will closed by the time you read this.

Major strengthening works are required on both the Northway Lane motorway bridge and also Hardwick Bank Road.  It would appear that work is to begin with the Northway Lane bridge, which will be closed from the 5th July 2010, followed directly by the Hardwick Bank Road bridge, it is anticipated that the period of time necessary for works to both bridges is 30 weeks.

The work is being undertaken by Amey on behalf of the Highways Agency and they will be obliged to maintain access for pedestrians, cyclists and emergencies whilst the works are on-going.  A copy of the Temporary Traffic Order is available to view at the Parish Offices.

If you have any concerns about the work that is taking place the Highways Agency can be contacted at ha_info@highways.gsi.gov.uk.
